Dani's Writing Journey

Good evening, everyone; my name is Danielle, or Dani! I am getting my Master’s from SHNU in Creative Writing (specifically poetry) to strengthen what I learned from my undergraduate minor. I hope to use this blog to showcase my writing and my progress throughout my last year in my program.

I fell in love with writing when I was about eight or nine years old, and I am a bit embarrassed to admit it is because of the picture prompts I had to do during the state testing (as much as I hated these tests, at least I could be creative). As I grew, I learned how powerful poetry can be. My love for this genre started because of how therapeutic it was for me and then spiraled when I began to love the poetry I was writing.

Today, my love for storytelling and poetry spilled into creative nonfiction, and I plan to use this blog in order to showcase much of my work.
