With the new year comes a fresh start (I know, super cliché), another chance to become the person you want to be or get another step closer to reaching your goals. There is a ton of pressure to make resolutions that are so big they are almost impossible to complete. But this pressure is all in our own heads. We don’t have to make a resolution (although I believe we all should continue to better ourselves), and if you do, you don’t have to make this big resolution that is going to change your life forever. Instead, focus on smaller changes you can make to better yourself (that’s what I did this year).
Most years, I felt I needed to make grand resolutions that would change my life forever, but instead I avoided making them. This year, I decided to change this and create a goal I can stick to with much less pressure. My goals this year are simple: to focus on my writing, school, and my mental health.
2026 Goals
- Read 300 books (wish me luck)
- Read more poetry
- Write 30 minutes a day.
- Go to Barre 4x a week
Hopefully everyone’s NYE was happy and safe!
