Dani's Writing Journey

The past three years I accidentally started a tradition for myself to have save one week of my paid time off (I now have three weeks) where I stay home. I do things around the apartment, make plans with friends who I rarely get to see because of our different work schedules, and a spay day. It started because I wanted more time to focus on school work and not stress about working on top of it (and of course to also have time to be social), but it’s something that I’ve grown accustomed to and will continue.

This year’s week off ended up being the first week of my new “class” (it’s my thesis) and the first weeks assignments are never too heavy so I had a bit more time to see my friends. Twice I went into the city to see my best friend, once for brunch and once to see Louis Tomlinson at Madison Square Garden. For brunch, we met up at the cutest bakery in Soho called Crispy Heaven Bakery. I am still thinking about that bread, I wanted to bring a loaf home so badly but didn’t want to carry it around all day.

I have lived 30 minutes to an hour (depending on traffic or the form of transportation you are taking) from the city my entire life and have been to too many hockey games to count and have never stepped foot into MSG until last week. Not going to lie I was kind of nerding out being on the floor knowing I was standing where the ice should be at a hockey game. Louis Tomlinson was amazing, high school me wouldn’t have believed me that I was as close to him as I was (Harry will always be my fav). And his openers OMG. I love bands with all women musicians and their music is amazing!
